Solicitors Negligence:

We have this week also settled for the same client a claim against his former legal advisors.

Mr N was advised by a London firm in relation to a party wall dispute. He was badly advised and was left with a claim for costs against him in excess of £80,000.00.

We were instructed by him after the trial when the costs issues were considered and subsequently represented him, having those costs assessed by a Cost Judge in the Senior Cost Office.

Once those issues were resolved we then advised him to pursue a claim against his former advisors. We obtained a detailed statement from him, reviewed the original file, hired a barrister on a no-win-no-fee basis, obtained legal expense cover and presented the claim to the law firm.

This was eventually handled by the professional indemnity insurer panel solicitors of the law firm. We have this week settled that claim for £100,000.00 without issue of proceedings.
