Slip and Trip accident on a pool of water in Sainsburys

On 1st September 2011 we received a cheque of £3,457.00 in personal injury compensation for a lady who slipped on a pool of water in her local Sainsburys supermarket while doing her shopping in October 2010.

The lady was simply walking through the aisles about to turn a corner to go to the back of the store when her left leg gave way. As she fell, her right knee struck something and she landed on her right side.

It later appeared that there was a pool of water on the floor where the accident took place. There were no warning signs within the location, nor was the area cordoned off.

As a result of this fall the lady suffered an injury to her knee and exacerbated an pre-existing back injury.

Investigations were carried out and liability was admitted within 21 days. We obtained all our clients medical records and swiftly instructed an independent medical expert who prepared a report of our clients injuries. In the meantime we prepared a schedule of special damages for all financial losses suffered as a result of the accident which included a care and assistance claim when assisted by her family and friends after the accident.

A global offer of £3,125.00 was initially offered and we eventually negotiated a final figure of £3,475.00 which our client happily accepted.

This is an example of a case which was referred to us by a former satisfied client, who in fact is on our referral panel and refers clients to us on a regular basis.

If you or anyone you know has had slip or trip in a local place and indeed any personal injury accident please contact Leeanne Druse at our offices on 0207 377 0877.
