Accident at Work – Case Example
Accident at Work
Mrs P
Compensation £50,000.00
Mrs P was employed by her family’s company. Whilst in the course of her employment and working in the kitchen Mrs P fell and broke her right wrist. She suffered a serious injury and under anaesthetic her wrist was repaired with screws.
Mrs P was introduced to this practice by a contact of this firm. We met her and agreed to take her case on, on a no-win-no-fee basis.
(i) We obtained her complete medical records.
(ii) Purchased a Legal Expense Cover.
(iii) Instructed a suitable medical specialist.
(iv) Prepare detailed schedule of loss
(v) Presented her claim for pain and suffering and financial losses.
She was made an offer, which was rejected. Legal Proceedings were issued in our local court. A defence was filed and the court directed a stay for further negotiation. The defendant made and improved offer to £50,000.00, which she accepted.
Whilst it took some time, Mrs P benefited by going direct to a lawyer. She avoided all the stress of dealing with Claims Company appointed lawyers and was able to see us in person and when necessary at her convenience. Thereby received a personal service.
